Welcome!
This site is designed to connect teachers–and all those interested in education and training–with ideas and services to support their professional journeys. This includes, of course, a bit of promotion for my book, The Inspired Teacher, which I hope will offer readers ideas to support their own growth as teachers and/or to support those teachers around them. Every section of every chapter has questions to get teachers thinking about how to become aware of new things and build new skills. There are also discussion starters for partners and groups to use to expand their thinking. I also provide speaking and training services along these lines.
For those of you in western Michigan, I am offering a class for graduate credit based on the information and ideas in The Inspired Teacher. To register, simply fill in this form and mail it with a deposit.
On May 14, 2009 I was interviewed by Shelly Irwin at WGVU, the NPR station in Grand Rapids, Michigan, regarding The Inspired Teacher. Click here to listen to the 10-minute interview online.
I encourage you to visit my blog where I’ll be sharing ideas, experiences and resources that I hope can help us all maintain and rekindle the sense of mission that brought us into this profession. I invite you to explore the site in its current form and to learn a bit more about me, and I hope you’ll check back soon to find additional ideas and resources and to share yours, too. Please feel free to contact me at carol@carolsteele.net if you have questions about the book, workshops I offer, or anything else here.
